Job Responsibilities of SR Unit

• Initiating, conducting and managing periodic interface meetings between the unions & associations and BSNL senior management


o Liaisoning with unions and associations and bringing their demands to the notice of the BSNL management
o Conducting periodic meetings to foster greater interaction, e.g. National Council Meetings, JCM, Central Unions etc.

• Establishing the legal status / grounding of union and association demands


o As per laid down laws and in coordination with Chief Labour Commissioner

• Delineating the procedures and next steps involved in taking the issues and negotiations forward between management and unions/associations


o Advocating the way forward according to the laid down laws and norms

• Managing relations with employee unions and associations

o Aligning on key HR matters
o Averting strikes and agitations
o Negotiating in times of conflict

• Ensuring free & fair elections for membership into unions and associations


• Providing guidelines to Circles and other field units for smooth day-to-day operations


o Union matters

• Formulating BSNL’s policy on outsourcing activities


• Formulating policy matters relating to residential accommodation allotment


• Development of employees to ensure continuous improvement in individual and company performance


• Encouraging a performance-oriented culture with emphasis on team-building and mentorship.
